The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning - new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness oh Lord. Great is thy faithfulness!
Every Thursday, my family has a prayer call and one of my aunts always begins with a song. "The steadfast love of the Lord..." We started the weekly prayer calls during Covid and we never stopped. Staying connected is so important. It's strange... I remember when 50 seemed so old. Now that I have more years behind me than ahead of me, my perspective has definitely changed. I'm grateful for my elders. Being able to pray with them every week is such a blessing.

The call just ended a few hours ago so all these thoughts are fresh in my head. As we lifted the Gullah Festival up in prayer, we thought about all the people who would be coming from all over and the various means of transportation. We covered all of you. I don't know if grateful is a big enough word to express how we feel every year. So many people come out to celebrate the Gullah culture & help us in our endeavors to preserve it.
Some of you have been attending the festival since it started 41 years ago. Sadly, many of our patrons and long time volunteers have gone to be with the Lord. That's why I believe it's so important to stay connected. There are some people who only see each other during the festival. There are customers who look forward to visiting their favorite vendors and vendors who look forward to seeing each other on the waterfront. It is truly a family affair. I'm taking this moment to let you know that you are valued and the smiles on your faces make all the planning worth it. 😊

Truly a blessing.
